Automated Phone System for
Emergency Notifications & Other Information
The Manchester Township School District has deployed an automated phone system for emergency and other important notifications. This system is capable of calling all parents in the district within a few minutes.
Please read below for the answers to some important questions you may have about the new system:
What if I’m not at home?
The system will leave a message if it encounters an answering machine and will attempt to call back about a half hour later if it encounters a busy signal.
How do I know if the call is real?
The number that will show on your caller ID for the notification will be the Manchester Twp. Schools Board of Education Office, 732-350-5900. In the future, all district-wide notices will come from this number. We may also use the system for school-specific notifications, in which case your child's school office phone number will show on your caller ID. If in doubt, we suggest you verify an emergency closing call by checking our web site at www.manchestertwp.org or listening to local radio stations. If you receive a questionable call, please call the school office during normal school hours.
Will I receive a call for each of my children?
For a district-wide notification, you should receive only one call per phone number even if you have more than one child in the district. If the message is school based, you should receive one call per phone number for your children in each school (HS, MS, RS, WS, MTES, RDS).
How can I help make sure I get a call?
It is very important that our emergency contact information is up to date for your child. You should provide both your home number and an alternate daytime number (work or cell) for notification in the event of an emergency early closing during the day. To update your information, please call the school office. Also, if you have your phone set to block unknown callers, you may want to add the school and district phone numbers to your phone directory.
We hope we have answered any questions you may have and we thank you for your help in keeping your emergency contact information up to date. If you have any other questions, please call your school office.
