At the October 17 special meeting of the Manchester Township Board of Education, the school district received a clean bill of financial health from Scott Clelland of the accounting firm of Wiss & Company. Clelland appeared at the meeting to review the district’s audit for the 2006-2007 fiscal year. He said the district received an “unqualified opinion,” the highest possible, with no negative findings or weaknesses.
Clelland praised the district for their financial practices and thanked them for closing their books so quickly and efficiently year after year. “This is the cleanest audit we deal with. It is really a tribute to the business office and the district.”

“I also want to extend kudos to (Business Administrator) Peter Corigliano. I’ve been in this business 23 years and he is the most conscientious individual I’ve met, without a doubt the best Business Administrator on New Jersey,” said Clelland. “He always does the right thing, always keeps the district first in mind and is always thinking three years ahead, being proactive rather than reactive.”
Clelland also congratulated Corigliano and the district for receiving the Association of School Business Officials International Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for 2006. He noted that this is the 11th consecutive year Manchester has received this prestigious internationally recognized award. He said that Manchester is one of only 23 districts statewide to receive the award this year and is surpassed by only one district in the state for the number of consecutive years receiving the award.
Business Administrator Peter Corigliano said the excellent audit is a result of the hard work of his business office staff, administrators and the entire district staff throughout the year.
