Dr. Janette Lada, Principal of Ridgeway Elementary School, announced that she will retire at the end of the school year. Dr. Lada has been an educator for 30 years, 28 of them in Manchester.  She was a Basic Skills teacher at Whiting Elementary School from 1978 until 2000, when she briefly took a position as Vice Principal at Marlboro Elementary School before returning to Manchester as Principal of Ridgeway Elementary School in July of 2002.

“If you’re working in this profession you really have to have a passion for it and I have been fortunate to work with a group of people here in Manchester that  share that passion.” said Lada.  “It’s very rewarding to be able to look back and be able to say, yes, I really did make a difference in children’s lives over the past 30 years.  I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to do that.”

"Dr. Lada has done an outstanding job and we thank her for all she has done for the children of Manchester,”  commented Dr. William DeFeo, Superintendent of Schools.  “She has been a real asset and is somebody that our school district will miss a great deal.”
