Well, the summer has just ended and we are coming back to school awaiting new experiences and happy times. Our first event of the year will be remembering our heroes in America on September 11 on Patriots Day. During the school day, our children will be asked to wear red, white and blue to remember those citizens who gave up their lives for our country. On the evening of the 11th, our school will open its doors to parents for our Back to School event. A separate flyer will be sent home with each child with specific information regarding the night’s schedule. Please plan to come to meet your child(ren)’s teacher(s).
September is a month of establishing our procedures and reuniting ourselves with our children. It is always a time of hope and wonderful expectations. The staff of MTES is looking forward to working with your child(ren) and would like your involvement. You will be asked to volunteer during the school year and we hope that you will have the time to come and be part of our community. Elementary school is such a wonderful beginning of your child’s life. Please be part of it.
In the latter part of September the children will be scheduled to participate in a fire safety program. This event is sponsored by our local volunteer fire department. We need your children to be aware of the potential dangers in our homes that may cause harm to him/her and the family. Please reinforce the need for fire prevention and review family emergency fire rules for your home.
