Can you believe that spring has arrived? At MTES we are excited about the warmer weather arriving and the birds returning to our school’s garden. We have had a busy winter with many exciting events that included Fun Fair, PE Exchange Day, February Presidents’ celebration, Read Across America Day and spring recess. Our school enjoyed March 3 as Dr. Seuss Day with a special celebration of an open house in our Media Center. With our school librarian, Mrs. Henderson, winning the $10,000 Ocean First Grant, the books that were purchased with this grant were on display for our community, visitors, parents and children to see. What a wonderful event it was.
Looking forward to April, May and June we anticipate many wonderful scheduled events. This year our Kindergarten registration will be April 8, 9
and 10. A separate flyer with the information will be sent home with your children. The week of May 5, our fifth graders will be scheduled for the state’s ASK 5 testing. This testing will conclude our state requirements for testing. The 16th of May is an early dismissal day with the afternoon devoted for professional staff development. Mrs. Mary Henderson, Media Specialist, was selected as this year’s MTES Teacher of the Year. This honor will be publically bestowed upon her at the May 21 Board of Education meeting. All are invited to help celebrate this event with her.
Manchester Township Elementary School is a very special place. We have gifted staff coupled with wonderful children and very supportive parents. Thank you for your support and continual help in making us a special place to learn.
