Welcome Winter. The weather has finally turned cool and the children have been excited about the many events in our school. In November we worked together to help our school district’s Holiday Drive. The children raised money through cupcake sales, P.J. days and Burger King night. It always gives us a great feeling to help others who might need clothing and/or toys for the holidays. Thank you parents for your support in this most worthwhile annual event.
Our Winter Concert, which is our fourth grade play, is scheduled for Tuesday, December 11 at 6:30 p.m. Under the direction of Mr. Tom Scharibone, our children transfer themselves into Broadway actors and actresses. It is always a marvelous time and so much fun. Please mark your calendar.
Our Christmas break will begin on Friday the 21st at the end of the school day and we will return on January 2. When we return from the break, our children will be offered special programs for both academic and social experiences. You will be receiving additional information in the next few weeks. The programs offered are CORE, ASK 3, 4, & 5. Our academic supplemental program allows time for supplementary exercises. Our school district understands the importance of academics and our staff is trained to deliver enriched programs.
Our big event will be our Fun Fair which is scheduled for Saturday the 26th of January from 9:30 to 1:30 at our school. This gathering is held every other year for the children to have a wonderful day filled with games, programs and food. Additional information will be coming home to you in January.
At this time, I would like to express my thanks for sending me such wonderful children. They truly make my life a joy and a pleasure to come to work each and every day. Wishing your family good health and happiness in the new year, 2008.
