Third grade classrooms were transformed into animal habitats for Zoo Day at Manchester Township Elementary School. This event ties into the third grade study of the biomes of the world. They study the rainforest, the arctic, the desert, the African grasslands/savanna, the Australian outback and the coral reef.

On Zoo Day, the students rotated through each classroom/habitat, participating in related activities and crafts. They created animal and rainforest masks, assembled animal tangrams and made instruments from Australia. Later in the day, they presented their animal research reports to other classes.
