On Thursday November 15, the officers of the Manchester Township H.S. Interact Club presented Kevin Burger with a check in the amount of $500 to kick off the annual Kevin's Kids annual Holiday Gift and food drive. 

The donated monies were the proceeds of the First Annual Pre-Game Spaghetti dinner, held at the high school last month.  Members of the community, faculty and staff gathered to enjoy a pre-game pasta dinner prepared by our top notch kitchen staff and served by our Interact Club members.  Representing the Interact Club at the presentation were Dahlia O., Treasurer and Jessica B., President.

The Interact Club is sponsored by the Lakehurst/Manchester Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance. “Each year our Interact Club completes at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill,” said advisor Joseph Gawlik. “Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of developing leadership skills, demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others, understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work, and advancing international understanding and goodwill.  As with all clubs at the high school, new members are always welcome.”

The Kevin’s Kids Holiday Drive is organized by the staff of the Manchester Township School District.  It provides toys, clothing, and food to children in the Manchester/Lakehurst area who might not otherwise have a happy holiday.  Monetary donations are requested so that volunteers may shop for specific items.

Donations may be mailed to Manchester Middle School, 2759 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ 08759.  Checks should be made out to “Manchester Middle School” with “Kevin’s Kids” written in the memo section.  The deadline for donations is December 7.  For more information contact Kevin Burger at 732-350-5900.
