Manchester Township High School sophomore James L. won the NJSIAA State Championship title for Heavyweight Wrestling on Sunday, March 9 in Atlantic City. He took the title in a final match against Howell’s Harry T., who was previously undefeated.

James is the first state champion for wrestling ever at MTHS, an incredible accomplishment for a sophomore who has only been wrestling for three years. He is one of only two wrestlers in Manchester‘s school history to make it to the state finals. Coach Tom Sheffler, the team, and the entire school are proud of James' achievement and the addition of the school’s first state championship banner for wrestling, which will remind future generations of James' title win.
