The Manchester Middle School had a fantastic opening and is looking forward to a wonderful holiday season filled with activities that convey pride in our school and excellence in our academics. Our Student Council has been working on coordinating events for our Middle School Spirit Week. This year’s theme is MTMS at the Movies! Activities will include a door decorating contest and spirit days. The festivities will also include Penny Wars. Each grade will have a container on the penny war table. Each penny that students put into their grade’s container will earn their class one spirit point. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Holiday Drive.
Middle school students have been busy participating in our athletic programs and participating in a variety of clubs. Students in the Kneedle Knots club learn to sew, knit, embroider and needlepoint. Students in our PEPP club helped to coordinate our Red Ribbon Day awareness. Students in our Impact club have worked industriously to support our holiday food drive and students in our Drama Club are busy working on their production in the spring. Students are also involved in our Winter Sports programs. Sports include wrestling, girls and boys basketball, and cheerleading. Additionally, students in grades 6 through 8 in our Gifted and Talented program are engaged in a project titled "We Didn't Start the Fire" inspired by Billy Joel's hit song from 1989.
The Middle School faculty and staff look forward with much anticipation into continuing our year with great pride and spirit in our school. We also encourage families to mark on your calendar important dates: Dec. 3-Writing Portfolio Distribution, Dec. 6-Mustang Pride, Dec. 17-Holiday Concert, Jan. 18-Martin Luther King Celebration, Feb. 6-PAC meeting, Feb. 7-BEST meeting.
Our middle school faculty and staff would like to extend warm wishes to all for a happy and healthy holiday season. See you in the New Year!
