As the cold weather sets in and the holidays are rapidly approaching, Ridgeway School continues to be a very busy place.
During October, the PTA provided us with visiting author, Dale Christopher, a children’s sports writer. He was a well known favorite among the students and they were especially excited when each fourth and fifth grade student received an autographed book. We cannot thank the Manchester PTA enough for all the wonderful programs that they provide for the students.
The PTA also sponsored the Scholastic Book Fair during American Education Week in November. Also during November, parent/teacher conferences provided an opportunity for parents to meet individually with their child’s teachers.
Ridgeway School is once again proud to support the Holiday Drive, which provides clothing and toys to needy families in the district. Some of the events that Ridgeway is sponsoring are McDonald’s Night on November 27, raffles for gift baskets, a staff sponsored dinner, and a Giving Tree in our lobby.
Our Junior Impact Club collected canned goods and non-perishable food items to help make the holiday season a little brighter for those less fortunate. I want to thank the community for their wonderful support for the Food and Clothing Drive. Your generosity is commendable.
Ridgeway’s Winter Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 18 at 7:00 pm. As in the past, we expect another standing room only crowd for this much anticipated event.
The Ridgeway staff wishes everyone a happy, safe, and healthy holiday season!
