The Manchester Township School District received a Certificate of Achievement from the School Alliance Insurance Fund (SAIF) for successfully completing all requirements to qualify the 2006-07 school year Safety Incentive Program Award. 

Business Administrator Peter Corigliano said that the district’s commitment to the SAIF program saved the district approximately $25,000 in annual insurance costs. Among the requirements for the award are quarterly safety meetings, attendance at trainings and seminars, and instituting safety policies for things like slip and fall prevention, playground safety, and safe use of tools and equipment.

“This award reflects the district’s commitment to the safety of our students and staff,” said Corigliano.  “It is an added bonus that we save on our workmen’s compensation costs by following the recommendations of SAIF, which helps us to identify health and safety concerns and institute procedures to address those concerns.”
