Community Resources
School counseling is often only one piece of the puzzle in helping a child or family receive the assistance he or she needs. There are many community agencies that offer counseling and family support. Click the program title to go to their websites.
PerformCare
Provides in-home needs assessment and may offer in-home counseling free of charge 1-877-652-7624
Strengthening Families
A 14-week FREE program offered by the Barnabas Institute for Prevention, which helps families work on parenting and communication skills. They even provide free dinner during the program! 732-942-5753
The Overtilted Child Support Group
A FREE support group for parents, grandparents, loved ones, and teachers can come and talk about real life issues relating to their child with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, and ADHD.
The group meets every First Tuesday of the Month from 7:00-8:00pm at 520 Main Street in Toms River.
For specific referrals to other community providers, such as doctors and specialists, please talk with your primary care physician or insurance provider. If you need help with this process, contact the school counselor or social worker for more info.
