MTHS Key Club Students Help Santa’s Elves
The MTHS Key Club students helped Santa’s elves deliver 246 letters to younger students in grades Pre-K to 5 at MTES, Whiting, and Ridgeway school. Advisor Theresa Zacchia said the group asked parents to fill out a Google survey with information about the children in order to personalize the letters. From the surveys, the students entered the information into a template and signed it from their elves (for example, if the child has an Elf on a Shelf at home, they used its name).
Zacchia said the project was a group effort. “Mrs. Staples jumped in to have some of her students write letters as well. Mrs. Scheffler's transition students participated in decorating, organizing and stuffing the envelopes. Mrs. Redd, Ms. Thiffault, and Mrs. Tupper all helped in the printing of the letters. This was our second year making elf letters and we hope to do so again next year.”
One parent commented on Facebook, “It was great how personalized it was, every time I read something else specific she would gasp and say how she really did that! ... LOL her reaction was priceless!”
Another said, “My 4 year old loved it!! He couldn’t believe that Santa and the elves knew everything. He was very excited. We had to read it to him a couple of times and call grandma and tell her about it. I hope you guys had a great turnout so you can do it again next year. Thank you!”
Great job by our MTHS elves!
