MTMS Virtual Graduation Update - New Date, Diploma Ceremony Added

MTMS Virtual Graduation June 23 at 6PM

To All Eighth Grade  Middle School Parents,Students, Staff and Families:

I met with the Middle School Administration and the graduation committee yesterday to finalize the plans for the Middle School Promotional Ceremony.  I know everyone is extremely anxious to learn the final details of the 8th grade graduation, but we were trying to make this event as special as possible for all of our students and families.  We were also waiting for possible new information from the state regarding what is allowable for this type of ceremony.  The news that we have received eliminates the possibility of a large in person graduation.

That being said, we wanted to make every effort to make this a special event for our 8th grade students and their families.  With this in mind, we will be providing a virtual ceremony that will be aired on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.  This is a change from our original tentative date of June 19th.  I apologize for the change, however we have decided to include an actual diploma ceremony similar to the high school where each family can witness, in person, their child receiving their diploma.  This will involve a great deal of additional work and more time is needed to complete this project, however, seeing the students receiving their diploma with their graduation gowns on stage will be something special for our families and students.

The diploma ceremony will take place at the high school, beginnning next week. The schedule for each family and student to pick up their graduation gown and then participate in the individual diploma ceremony will be distributed by the Middle School.  It will be scheduled by homeroom.

If you have any questions regarding the schedule, please email or contact the Middle School. Again, I apologize for the changes. We are doing everything possible to make this a memorable event for our students and their families.
