Parent Letter: Girls Soccer Quarantine 10-23-2020
October 23, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On Thursday, October 22, our school district was contacted by an administrator from the Jackson Township School DIstrict and informed us that an athlete on the Jackson Liberty Girls Soccer Team had tested positive for COVID-19. Since the Manchester Township High School Girls Soccer Team participated in a game with the Jackson Liberty Team on Tuesday, October 20th, we immediately consulted with the Ocean County Board of Health to discuss the situation.
After the Board of Health conducted a thorough investigation of the incident, it was determined that for safety and health reasons, it would be necessary for the Girls Varsity Soccer Team to quarantine for 14 days from Tuesday, October 20.
This quarantine only applies to the Manchester Township High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team and each parent and team member has been notified. It is important that these athletes remain at home and participate in school instruction on a remote basis.
Please continue to remind your child to take the required safety precautions of social distancing, mask wearing, and through hand washing to remain safe and healthy. Also please continue to monitor your child’s health, fill out the health questionnaire each day, and keep your child home if they are not feeling well.
Thank you again for your cooperation and support.
Superintendent of Schools
