Harold Peters

Woodshop Teacher

School: 732-928-1500 ext 7022

Hello, my name is Mr.Peters and I have had the chance of a lifetime to be able to work at Regional Day School. I have been teaching since 2001 and ninety percent of my teaching career has been with special education students and I would not have any other way. I started at regional day school in September of 2016. I have been given the chance to fill the shoes of a great teacher that worked in the shop for 27 years.I strive on teaching students how to work safely and there is no greater satisfaction to have than to teach a student how to complete a task, then they do it on their own in a better fashion that you could imagine.

My family comes first and theory in life is work hard and play harder. I enjoy riding my motorcycle, boating, jet skis, and snowmobiling.

Students will learn the Fundamentals of Woodworking. Students will learn which tool to use and how to utilize and care for tools. Students will develop skills in the use of hand and power tools using them safely and effectively. Students will be taught to understand the basic concepts, techniques and skills needed for wood shop projects. I have a full time aid with myself and the students that has been in the woodshop 8 years and also assists me with working with the children to make sure they are working safely and efficiently.
