Text Formatting in Posts

Formatting Text

You can format text by using the PARAGRAPH FORMAT dropdown which will say 'Normal' in its default state. DO NOT USE THE STYLES MENU. If you do not see the lower part of the menu, click the small arrow on the right of the toolbar to expand the formatting menu.

Examples of formatting are shown below. Heading formatting will not appear properly in your editor window but you will see it in preview and on the live site. To confirm the formatting on any paragraph, place your cursor in that paragraph and look at the paragraph format menu - it will show the formatting for that paragraph.

Please be aware that header formatting also creates a navigation structure for visually impaired persons using screen readers. Therefore, it is important to use headings logically and not just for decorative purposes. Your headings should flow from 1-5 as you travel down the page or section as in an outline.

You may format the size and color of your normal text but do this sparingly. If you wish to use color, you must be aware of the need to meet accessibility standards for visually impaired users. Use only dark colors for text.
