On behalf of our staff, I extend our thoughts for a wonderful holiday and a great vacation. Our students are anxious to start their break. Today we had a super Ridgeway day thanks to our PTA. Mrs. Beam and Mrs. Perry did an exceptional job in delivering hot cocoa to our students and staff. There were many fun activities going on throughout the day. Mrs. Hicks had a photo booth in her classroom which we all enjoyed. Today was PJ Day and the students spent their morning in cozy comfort, sipping hot cocoa. Many teachers read Polar Express. Our staff went above and beyond to create holiday activities that were meaningful and fun. Thanks to so many of you for your generosity during this holiday season.
New in 2018, there will be no more "valet" in the front of the building. Due to more parking spaces for the staff on the sides of the building, we have been able to open up more parking for you in the front of the building. Our safety committee has been working hard on finding solutions to our parking problems. Every year we have several incidents in our parking lot that involve cars parked on line in the lot during drop off and interfering with cars trying to move into spaces. We also have had incidences regarding cars interfering with the small buses that drop off in front. We even had a few situations when a pet ran out of the car and into the lot. As always, safety is the priority. Please know that taking the buses is always a great option. If you need to drive your child to school, please park and come into Ridgeway to sign your into the building. Sign in is located in the main lobby which will make the drop off quick. Teachers who were assigned to front parking lot duty will now be able to assist in the back of the building where we have over 400 students coming off buses and into the building. This will help keep those students safe as well. I apologize for any inconvenience.
There is no school on January 31st due to a district in-service.
As always, my Ridgeway families are truly the best families. I appreciate your support in helping keep our children safe.
Happy Holidays,Mrs. Mazur
