Wrapping Up the School Year!
As the school year comes to a close, I would be remiss if I did not thank our many families who have been a constant source of support. On behalf of our entire staff, please know that we have appreciated your time, efforts, feedback, and kindness. We have enjoyed your children and we thank you for the opportunity to be part of your lives and to be on your team.It truly does take a village.
Through the summer I will use Twitter to post upcoming events and Ridgeway happenings. If you don't follow me yet, you may want to add that to your list of things to do this summer.
Some of you have written me notes regarding placement for next year. Please remember that we have three classes on grades K through 2, and one on grade 4. We have fewer classrooms, but it continues to be so important that students are matched with the teacher who can best provide what they need – such as basic skills, in class support, and ESL. Several teachers offer flexible seating which is perfect for some students. Some teachers are more structured which is also the perfect setting for some students.I have been working closely with the staff to insure that our students get what they need to succeed. If you have a particular question, please give me a call.Class lists will go home in August.
In preparing for the kindergarten graduation, I ran across a great article about the importance of play. Please be sure that you encourage your child to read, practice math facts, keep a writing journal, and exercise. Please also make sure that they have time to PLAY .For children, play is actually an opportunity to explore, investigate, build social skills, and fine/gross motor skills.PLAY is a great thing!
Summer Jump Start begins on July 9th.Transportation will inform you about the bus pickup.
Again, thanks for all you do!Looking forward to seeing you in the coming school year!
