Good Afternoon Manchester Township Families,
I hope this message finds everyone ready for the holiday weekend. It's important for us to take time this weekend to celebrate and commemorate the lives of the service members that lost their lives in the call of duty. I had the opportunity to attend a beautiful ceremony on the Joint Base this morning. The 39th annual Parade of Wreaths ceremony honors Americans who sacrificed their lives for the freedoms we hold so dearly. This weekend also marks the official kick-off to summer and the weather appears to be cooperating. I hope everyone has an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the much-needed sunshine!
Below there are three important attachments for you to review. The first is an updated 21-22 school calendar. You will notice the addition of three early dismissal days on 6/22, 6/23, and 6/24 (last day). Early dismissals are necessary on these days to administer final exams at the High School and to allow our teachers at every school adequate time to properly close their classrooms for the summer. I apologize in advance for the late notice. These days will be formally approved at the June 15th Board of Education meeting; however, I felt it prudent to inform the community once I was able to speak with each of the Board Members to ensure they were in support of the calendar amendment. I have also included an updated 22-23 calendar that was approved at our last Board of Education meeting on May 11th. We hope to have very few changes to the 22-23 calendar, as we have pre-determined early dismissals and built-in two snow days.
Additionally, I have included a letter that outlines and reviews our current COVID procedures for the remainder of the school year. Our District will remain "mask optional" unless they are required by the Governor. Our goal is to keep our entire community safe by mitigating the spread of COVID-19. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
