Manchester Township Elementary School (MTES) students got a taste of democracy... literally this week as they exercised their right to vote ahead of the school's Barnes & Noble Fundraising Night on October 16!
The Ocean County Board of Elections brought official County voting booths right to MTES, giving students the important task of choosing which frappuccino flavor will be featured at the Starbucks inside of Barnes & Noble during the fundraiser. The contenders? Vanilla Vibe, Strawberry Star, or Chocolate Dream. Each flavor was tempting enough to spark a full-blown campaign!
Students lined up to cast their votes, guided by specially trained student helpers who learned from Principal Healy how to assist younger voters, explain the options, and make sure every voter proudly walked away with an “I Just Voted” sticker.
Once the votes are counted, the winning frappuccino flavor will be revealed at the Barnes & Noble in Brick, NJ, on Thursday, October 16, from 5–7 PM. Families can look forward to an evening full of shopping, fun, and sipping the winning drink with their MTES family.
