Manchester Township Elementary School was honored to welcome very special guests this week as a service member from the United States Air Force visited classrooms as part of our ongoing Reading Buddies partnership with Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB-MDL).
Each month, these treasured visitors from JB-MDL spend time with our youngest learners across multiple school buildings, bringing stories, smiles, and meaningful connections into our district. During this visit, the service member met with students in preschool through second grade, sharing engaging stories, talking about her roles in the military, and building relationships that make a lasting impact.

MTES Students were beyond excited to meet their military Reading Buddy today. Classrooms buzzed as our young learners eagerly listened carefully to captivating stories and embraced the opportunity to connect with this inspiring role model.
These visits do more than bring joy to our classrooms. They help strengthen the bond between our schools and the military families we proudly serve. The partnership between Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and Manchester Township School District continues to extend beyond the classroom by supporting the unique needs of military-connected students and their families.

Experiences like these help ensure that our educators and students are equipped with greater understanding and strategies to create the best possible learning environments for our military-connected learners. We are deeply grateful to our friends at JB-MDL for their continued collaboration and for investing their time, energy, and hearts into our students.
Together, we are building stronger connections that enrich the lives of both our students and the military community.
