April 2024 BOE Meeting Student Recognitions!

Each month, the Board of Education recognizes students from every school at their meeting. This month the Board of Education celebrated the following students and their achievements with the community:

Manchester Township Elementary School:

Meet Mrs. Peck’s third-grade class from Manchester Township Elementary School, or should we say Sirius XM Disney Hits, guest hosts! These young MTES Dragons entered a contest earlier this year and won! They chose four of their favorite Disney songs, wrote about which songs they liked best, and explained why they were their favorites. Stay tuned this spring as they have the fabulous opportunity to introduce XM Radio. Way to go!

Ridgeway Elementary School:

Mrs. Hudson’s fifth-grade class from Ridgeway Elementary School partnered with the Ocean County Library for a database project to complement their opinion writing unit. Half of the students wrote about whether people should be able to visit the Titanic or if it should be left to rest. The other half wrote about whether water bottles are harmful or helpful. Students learned how to use the library database to find books and fun facts about their topic. The library took the suggested books and facts to create amazing book displays and bookmarks. Holly Goodman, Valeria Carrada Santiago, Aaron Sarana, and Kyle Jacob were present at last night’s BOE meeting to accept the award on behalf of Mrs. Hudson’s class.
