Manchester Township High School (MTHS) students in the Structured Learning Experience (SLE) class had the opportunity this spring to explore the career field they are considering after graduation. This class and these internships provide innovative and performance-driven opportunities, personal career awareness, career exploration and preparation, and career technical education for MTHS students.
Today, students from the SLE class, under the teaching and guidance of Ms. McKiernan and Ms. Adams, invited their internship supervisors to have lunch with them, their peers, school staff, and MTSD administration, where they presented about their internship experience and expressed appreciation for the opportunity. Students chose to intern in a wide-range of career fields and were welcomed warmly by organizations such as the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, Morgan Engineering, Community Medical Center, Trinity Rehab, Cattus Island Park/Ocean County Parks System, Jenkinson's Aquarium, J.P. Custom Leatherworks, various rehab facilities, medical facilities, law firms, an auto-body shop, and more! Students spoke passionately in appreciation for each organization that welcomed them in, taught them so much, and some who have offered students summer jobs and internship positions so that they can continue to learn and grow.
