Each month, the Board of Education recognizes students from every school at its meeting. This month, the Board of Education celebrated the following students and their achievements with the community:
Manchester Township Elementary School
Layla Quick
Layla is a dedicated member of the MTES Safety Patrol and serves as a Bus Ambassador, consistently demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to her role. On one occasion, despite not feeling well and knowing she would be absent, she contacted a classmate to ensure that her kindergarten students were properly cared for and arrived at the bus safely. Layla always has a smile on her face, is helpful to her teachers and classmates, and is a hardworking student.

Ridgeway Elementary School
Zachary Bada
Zachary demonstrated exceptional responsibility and character by stepping in at the last minute to learn all the lines in the spring concert play. Without hesitation, he supported his classmates and helped ensure the performance could move forward successfully. His bravery, dedication, and dependable nature were evident throughout this experience. He is a kind-hearted student who consistently shows a willingness to help others and do what is needed for his teachers and classmates.

Whiting Elementary School
Karlie Vaclavicek
Karlie was selected as the winner of the Ocean County Library second grade bookmark contest, an impressive accomplishment that reflects her creativity. Her winning design features a vibrant and imaginative depiction of spring. Her bookmark will be professionally reproduced and available for distribution to students at the Manchester Branch Library. Your hard work and artistry have made your school community proud.

Regional Day School
Antonio Davis
Antonio has made great strides since the beginning of the school year! He has been working very hard both academically and behaviorally. His smile and laugh are both very contagious. He is a kind friend to classmates and other students in the school. Antonio loves including everyone and being part of a group. We are so proud of Antonio!

Manchester Township Middle School
Victoria Grausso
Victoria is a 7th grade student who has proven herself to be an integral member of the Mustang Mentors Club. To begin with, she leads by example and takes the time to listen, support, and encourage her peers. Furthermore, her positive attitude helps create a welcoming environment within the building where mentees feel valued and respected. It is this kindness and devotion that make Victoria a standout member of the organization, one who inspires others to make their own worthwhile contributions to the school community.

Athletes of the Month
Zachary Brown & Kayla Weils
We are extremely proud to have Zachary Brown and Kayla Weils represent MTMS as our student athletes for the month of April. Zach and Kayla are both great representations of what it means to be a student athlete. They are 8th grade leaders on our Track & Field/Wrestling teams and Track & Field/Cross Country teams (respectively) and serve as excellent examples to our younger student athletes.

Tyler Perlman
At just 16, Tyler has earned Eagle Scout, the youngest in Troop 441. His project beautified St. John’s Church pantry entrance and created a memorial for his late father, a United States Marine. His dedication, leadership, and service exemplify remarkable character and proudly represent Hawk spirit in our community.

The Seal of Biliteracy Recipients
Congratulations to the Manchester Township High School students receiving the Seal of Biliteracy. This Seal recognizes students who demonstrate high proficiency in two or more languages. Through rigorous assessment, they show strong communication skills and cultural awareness, preparing them for success in a global society. Their hard work reflects a commitment to global citizenship and prepares them for success in an increasingly interconnected world.

Athletes of the Month
Christine Flanagan & Patrick Allen
Christine Flanagan has been a varsity softball contributor since her freshman year. She continues to make a major impact for the Hawks. She leads by example both in the classroom and on the field. She consistently puts her teammates first.
Patrick Allen qualified for and competed in the New Balance Indoor Nationals in the 1600m with a time of 4:32.5, ranking among the top freshman runners in the nation. He demonstrated resilience and elite performance. Patrick now sets his sights on qualifying for Outdoor Nationals in June.
