As summer winds down and back-to-school season approaches, there’s always a mix of excitement and nostalgia in the air. Here in the Manchester Township School District (MTSD), we’re thrilled to see our schools buzzing with students and families as we kick off orientations and tours!
Today, Manchester Township Middle School (MTMS) is rolling out the welcome mat with 6th Grade Orientation, New Student Orientation, and a special Cookies & Conversation event with our new principal, Mr. Anthony Giaconia. Orientation sessions began at 9 AM and continue through 11 AM and 1 PM, depending on students’ assigned times.
During orientation, Principal Giaconia shared a warm welcome and introduced himself to families, highlighting his professional background and his goals for the year ahead. He also encouraged families to share their thoughts and feedback as the school year begins.
Families then had the chance to meet Vice Principal McLaughlin, Guidance Counselors, the Athletic Director, the School Nurse, and other key staff members. Students learned about the importance of getting involved in activities, the process for submitting medical and athletic paperwork, and what to expect when they arrive on the first day. Of course, one of the most exciting (and sometimes nerve-wracking!) parts of the day was practicing how to use lockers, a rite of passage that’s just as fun for students as it is nostalgic for parents.
Later this afternoon (8/20) at 4:30 PM, all MTMS families are invited to join Principal Giaconia once again for Cookies & Conversation. This event is a casual meet-and-greet for families to get to know their new principal and connect before the school year officially begins. We look forward to seeing you there!
