Valentine’s Day was extra sweet once again at Regional Day School (RDS)! Students and staff gathered to celebrate the 7th Annual Regional Day School Cupcake Wars, a beloved tradition that brings creativity, collaboration, and delicious fun to the Manchester school community.
Each classroom pod worked alongside their teachers to brainstorm, bake, decorate, and present their own unique cupcake creations. This year’s competition was filled with imagination, school spirit, and, of course, plenty of frosting!
For this year’s competition, C-Pod centered its theme around “The 2026 Winter Olympics.” Their cupcakes featured Red, White, and Blue details, the Olympic rings, and patriotic cupcake liners. The Olympic rings were decorated with lots of sprinkles to bring their theme to life.
As judges, the students walked through the displays. C-Pod proudly shared how their creation represented the theme. The attention to detail and teamwork truly stood out!
Known for their imaginative designs, B-Pod wowed the crowd with their 2026 theme, “Snow Much Fun.” Their cupcakes were made with red velvet cake mix, cream cheese frosting, and the white sugar sprinkles really transformed their cupcakes into a winter snowman theme.
Guests were especially impressed by the attention to detail when it came to the snowmen's face decorations. B-Pod once again demonstrated how cupcakes can become edible works of art!
A-Pod incorporated their learning into this year’s competition with their theme, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” Their display included a creative cupcake display, bringing the book theme, helping visitors connect their cupcake creations to important lessons and ideas in this well-known children's book.
The cupcakes featured vanilla cake mix, Oreo toppings, and fun gummy candies such as gummy worms that reflected the pod’s thoughtful approach to both baking and presentation. Way to go, A-Pod!
Students and staff judges carefully examined each pod’s display before tasting the cupcakes and casting their votes for the 2026 winners. The decision was no easy task, and every creation was truly impressive!
Although all participants should be proud of their hard work, the following pods earned top honors at the 2026 Regional Day School Cupcake Wars:
