Every year, during the third week of October, we celebrate National School Bus Safety Week! This year, the theme of the week is "Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes." While our wonderful transportation staff work hard to transport our students safely, you can also be that everyday hero by following state traffic laws and procedures, each and every day.
When you see flashing yellow lights, slow down and prepare to stop. When you see flashing red lights, be sure to come to a complete stop at least 25 feet away from the bus. Always be aware of students during school hours, whether they are waiting at a bus stop, walking to school, or playing outdoors. When in doubt, be cautious: no student's well-being should be put at risk because of impatience or distraction!
