MTHS VETERANS DAY 25

The Manchester Township School District united today in a powerful tribute to America’s veterans, as students and staff across all schools came together to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The Manchester Township High School (MTHS) JROTC led the district’s annual Veterans Day observances, with the MTHS Color Guard traveling to each elementary school to ensure even the youngest students could take part in this meaningful day.

At Whiting Elementary School, a heartfelt ceremony recognized veterans who have personal ties to the school community, including parents, a graduate, and the husband of a staff member. Two members of the high school Color Guard, both former Whiting students, proudly returned to their elementary alma mater alongside MACS (SW/AW) Patrick McKay, USN (Ret.). Their professionalism and precision left a strong impression on all in attendance.

Fifth-grade students helped lead the celebration, sharing the history and significance of Veterans Day, singing “I’m Proud to Be an American,” and presenting certificates of appreciation to the honored guests. These moments provided students with a powerful opportunity to learn from and connect with the heroes in their own community.

At RiAt Ridgeway Elementary School, the school grounds were decorated with American flags, welcoming the JROTC and setting a patriotic tone for the day. Students and staff created hand-signed thank-you banners, which were proudly presented to the visiting veterans as a token of gratitude and respect. While at Manchester Township Elementary School, students and staff dressed in their patriotic best to celebrate along with the JROTC and their school community!
