WES Tournament of Champions

Whiting School's (WES) Preschool Disabilities program recently hosted a special event designed to celebrate the incredible abilities, growth, and achievements of our youngest learners.

This yearly event, coordinated by teacher Crystal Taylor, brought together students, families, teachers, and related service providers for an engaging and meaningful experience that highlighted the unique strengths of each child. Families participated in interactive stations created by our preschool teachers, along with our speech, occupational, and physical therapists.

Each activity was intentionally designed to showcase the developmental skills students work on every day in a fun, hands-on environment. Parents had the opportunity to engage alongside their children in activities such as language and communication games developed by our speech therapists, fine motor and sensory activities created by our occupational therapists, and movement-based challenges designed by our physical therapists. Classroom teachers also prepared academic and social-emotional learning activities that reflected student progress and growth throughout the year.

The event provided families with a firsthand look at how therapeutic supports are seamlessly integrated into the learning experience. It was a wonderful reminder that every child learns differently and possesses unique strengths worth celebrating. We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to our dedicated teachers, therapists, and families for working together to support their continued success.
