As students settled into their classrooms bright and early this morning, the Manchester Township School District saw brand new school supplies piled high outside the doors of Manchester Township Elementary School. When community members first heard about the 1st Annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive at Applebee’s Manchester, they responded with gusto, coming together to donate backpacks, lunchboxes, and a myriad of other essential provisions.
The campaign kicked off in early August with the Dining to Donate event, and kept its momentum throughout the month. Manchester residents were encouraged to attend the Flapjack Fundraiser and Family Fun Day to raise funds and help “stuff the bus”. The supplies gathered are to be distributed throughout Manchester schools, helping to ensure that students start the school year off on the right foot.
The Manchester community came together to show how The Power of Us - our district theme for the year - goes beyond words. The success of the 1st Annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive was determined by everyone who took action and lent a hand.
