Yesterday, Mrs. Cataldo’s preschool class was visited by Friend Of Education Award recipient and “Super Volunteer” Tammy Rousseau. Mrs. Rousseau continued her longstanding tradition of leading hands-on learning experiences at Whiting Elementary School, guiding a crowd of awestruck faces through a butterfly’s life cycle as students observed real-life caterpillars and chrysalises up close.
But the lesson did not end there. As Mrs. Cataldo’s class returned to school this morning, they were in for a colorful surprise! The chrysalises had given way to beautiful butterflies, ready to take flight and return to the wild as everyone bid their farewells.
The morning offered sunshine, smiles, and a stellar opportunity for students to learn about the wonders of nature firsthand.
