Each month, the Board of Education recognizes students from every school at its meeting. This month, the Board of Education celebrated the following students and their achievements with the community:
Manchester Township Elementary School
Laniya McClellan
While some students spend their summer vacation at the beach or playing with friends, Laniya asked her parents how she could help charities. She took it upon herself to create a lemonade stand to sell lemonade and popsicles to her neighborhood. She was able to raise $400!
Ridgeway Elementary School
Amelia Durham, Elliana Borowicki, & Skylar Bruzaitis
These Dolphins exemplify outstanding citizenship through their selfless dedication to the courtyard garden this summer. By volunteering their time to nurture our school’s shared space, they demonstrated a deep sense of community and care for their school family. Their actions serve as a powerful example to all students, showing how young people can make a meaningful difference and inspire others to contribute with kindness and responsibility.

Sadie Sloan, Riley Goelz, Aubrey Maletto, Joseph Sloan, Chloe Bak, Alani Gotay, Viviana King, Julian Wise, Nova Dougherty
Our Bus Safety Officers have pledged to do their best and serve as positive role models for our Kindergarten students. They help guide our youngest Wildcats to and from their classrooms and assist them during their bus rides to and from school. Safety officers follow all school and bus rules, and demonstrate responsibility, leadership, and kindness both on and off the bus. We are proud of these students for stepping up as leaders and helping make each bus ride safe and welcoming.

Fabiola Barranco Segundo
Fabiola is an enthusiastic learner who loves school and learning. She is also an amazing friend to all and shows this by bringing them all their favorite toys or books, and by giving them hugs. Fabiola is pure joy. She brings happiness to everyone around her. Congratulations Fabiola! We are so proud of you!
Manchester Township Middle School
MTMS Chorus
This past July, the MTMS Chorus took the stage at the PNC Bank Arts Center, performing alongside legendary rock band Foreigner during the band's iconic hit, I Want to Know What Love Is. After earning the opportunity by winning 105.7 The Hawk's "Sing With Foreigner" contest earlier this year, our students proudly represented MTSD in front of thousands of concertgoers for an experience of a lifetime!
MTMS Athletes of the Month
Shaelyn Seaman
Over this past summer, Shaelyn played 2nd base for the Toms River Little League team. After hitting a double that brought in the winning runs, her team advanced to the Little League World Series, which was broadcast on ESPN. The Toms River players ended up advancing to the semifinals and placed 4th in the overall competition. We are extremely proud of Shaelyn’s accomplishment and can’t wait to see what she does in the future.
Cathy Cardinale
OCCEA ESP of the Year
Congratulations to Cathy Cardinale, who has been named the Ocean County ESP of the Year by the Ocean County Council of Education Associations (OCCEA). A member of the Manchester Middle School community, Cathy is being recognized for her dedication and contributions as an Educational Support Professional. We are proud to celebrate Cathy and this well-deserved recognition of her commitment to our students and school community.

Student of the Month
Ada is a member of the MTHS Student Government and Class of 2027. Her service leadership supported our incoming freshman class, leading parent and student building tours during both sessions. Ada’s efforts modeled excellence by example.
Abigail Soriano Gonzalez
Student of the Month
Cadet Commanding Officer Abigail is a member of the MTHS NJROTC program and Class of 2027. Over the summer, she completed the Cadet Leadership and Sailing Training Course held in Newport, Rhode Island. The LAST Course is a mini Cadet Boot Camp for the next year's unit leaders. She earned a distinguishing element for her uniform, a silver aiguillette.
Angela Torres Gamez
Student of the Month
Angela is a member of the MTHS National Honor Society and Class of 2027. During our opening days of school, Angela played a key role in assisting freshmen with finding their classrooms, as well as translating for students throughout the first week.
MTHS Athletes of the Month
Janiel Sanchez & Danica Sardo
Senior Defensive End Janiel Sanchez had 2 sacks and 2 tackles in Manchester’s 7-3 victory over New Egypt. Janiel was also named the Shore Sports Network Player of the Week. Senior Tennis player Danica Sardo has started the season strong with back to back 6-0, 6-0 victories vs. Barnegat and Neptune. Danica is a great leader as the Hawks are off to a 2 and 0 start.

Senior Master Sergeant Charles Taylor attended his last board meeting as Military Ambassador to the Manchester Township School District. We want to thank SMSgt Taylor for his service and wish him the best of luck as he assumes his new assignment at the Pentagon in Washington DC!
Jimmy Lawson
Head Wrestling Coach
We would like to welcome Jimmy Lawson back to the district! A decorated athlete and Manchester schools alumni, Jimmy returned to take the mantle of head wrestling coach to thunderous applause. With such a momentous homecoming, it is clear that our Hawks are ecstatic to have him at the helm.
