MTES TV to MTHS TV-21

The Manchester Township Elementary School (MTES) Television Broadcast Team had the exciting opportunity to produce a real television segment on Friday! MTES students worked alongside Mr. Eckert's Manchester Township High School TV-21 broadcast students to develop and produce their first real show.

MTES students came to the table with a script that they were able to read off of the teleprompter. They each had a job and rotated through the jobs of the TV studio to create the production, learning as they went along. They reported on the news, operated the cameras, worked on the switchboards, and more! It was a wonderful first-hand experience under the direction of their teachers and MTHS peer leaders from MTHS TV-21.

The MTES Television Production Team is a group of fifth graders who participate in the TV Production Club. The Club presents the news and information along with birthdays and a mindfulness moment each and every morning to the students and staff at MTES. Fifth graders wishing to participate in the news program must audition for on-air positions and behind the scenes crew must complete a job application before joining the program. Students are responsible for preparing their scripts each day and making sure the studio is ready for broadcast each morning. They truly impressed the MTHS students and they worked hard to develop a wonderful broadcast segment together.

We look forward to seeing the final segment, soon!
