WES PINK OCTOBER

Throughout the month of October, the Whiting School has once again come together in support of the Shirley Mae Breast Cancer Assistance Fund. This longstanding tradition has been part of our school community for many years and acts as a meaningful reminder of the importance of compassion, awareness, and hope.

This year, the cause holds even deeper significance. Our very own paraprofessional, Mrs. Diane Zakerski, recently received incredible news: after a courageous three-year battle with Stage 4 cancer, she has officially been cleared. Her strength and positivity have inspired students and staff alike, and her journey brings powerful purpose to this year’s fundraising efforts.

From donations to classroom activities promoting awareness, Whiting School has rallied together to honor survivors, support those currently fighting, and remember loved ones impacted by cancer.

As WES continues to raise money for the Shirley Mae Foundation, we celebrate Diane’s recovery and the resilience of all individuals facing cancer. Her story reminds us why this mission matters and how every contribution can make a difference.
