Thanksgiving spirit was on full display across the Manchester Township School District today, as students and staff came together for a series of beloved traditions that highlight creativity, teamwork, and districtwide unity.
MTES Brought the Magic of the Macy’s Parade to Manchester with the Annual Float Parade
The morning began with a festive favorite at our elementary schools, the 7th annual Thanksgiving Float Parade. Inspired by the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, fourth-grade students have spent the past several weeks designing and building their very own miniature floats. Today, their hard work came to life as each class proudly showcased their creations during a schoolwide parade.
The event was live-streamed so the entire school community could join in the celebration from their classrooms. As seen on Thanksgiving morning’s Macy’s Parade, appearances by Santa and Tom the Turkey brought extra excitement and holiday cheer today to the crowd of students and staff lining the parade route.
MTMS Hosts Annual Turkey Shootout + Pep Rally!
At Manchester Township Middle School, the energy continued with the third annual Turkey Shootout basketball game, a friendly and highly spirited basketball showdown between staff and students. Laughter, teamwork, and sportsmanship filled the gym as both sides competed in this much-loved pre-holiday tradition. The Shootout remains a highlight of the season, reinforcing connection and camaraderie between students and educators.
Districtwide Unity on Display in Blue and Gold
Throughout the district, teachers, administrators, and support staff showed unity by wearing blue and gold pride gear. This simple yet meaningful gesture reflects the gratitude the Manchester community feels for one another. Colleagues wearing district colors is more than school spirit; it’s a reminder that we are a strong, supportive, and connected community, especially during a season centered on giving thanks.
