Manchester’s Regional Day School at Jackson is a truly special place, filled with laughter, learning, and memory-making. The school provides an enriched, comprehensive program for students whose low-incidence or severe disabilities require a unique learning environment, and days like today highlight the joy and impact of that mission.

Tim McCloone’s Holiday Express returned this year to bring music, fun, and holiday spirit to the students of Regional Day School. The program’s mission is to deliver music, food, gifts, financial support, and friendship to those most in need of human kindness during the holiday season, and this year’s visit was no exception.
The interactive musical extravaganza featured professional volunteer musicians leading students in singing and dancing, special guest characters joining the fun, a delicious lunch, holiday-themed activities, and gift bags for every student. The energy and excitement in the school were contagious, with students singing along and sharing in the joy of the day.

“Holiday Express is truly on a mission to spread the gift of kindness, and they bring that kindness to Regional Day School every single year," says Regional Day School Principal Lisa Michallis. "Our students and staff look forward to this day more than any other. It fills the building with holiday cheer and brings us together through music, dancing, and joyful celebration.”

Special guests from across the district and town also joined the celebration. Superintendent Pedroza never misses the event as she dances and sings along with the students and staff. Members of the Manchester Police Department visited to spend time with students and staff and presented Principal Michallis with a $1,500 donation from the Manchester P.B.A. 246. Manchester Township Police Foundation also donated $1,500. These funds will provide winter coats, jackets, and other essential outerwear for Regional Day School students, ensuring they stay warm during the season.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the Manchester Township School District, Manchester Township Police Department, Regional Day School families, and our community for their continued support of the Regional Day School. And thank you to Tim McCloone’s Holiday Express for making this day truly magical.
