MTHS SLE STUDENTS TO TRGCC EVENT

On Friday morning, Manchester Township High School’s Structured Learning Experience (SLE) students, a work-based learning program, had the opportunity to attend the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce meeting and networking session.

MTHS SLE STUDENTS TO TRGCC EVENT

SLE is a competitive program, overseen by MTHS teachers Brianna McKiernan and Maryann Adams, that gives Manchester's seniors a hands-on, authentic learning experience. During the first semester, students focus on college and career readiness, exploring their talents, developing resumes, learning professional dress and interview skills, and preparing for real-world success. In the second semester, students participate in the process of networking, applying, and securing workplace internships, putting their skills into practice.

At today’s event, our students were awarded an opportunity to network and gain firsthand insight into professional environments.

Experiences like this give Manchester Township High School students invaluable opportunities to interact with local business leaders, understand the importance of professional relationships, and continue the spirit of giving back to the community that Manchester is so well known for. In addition to connecting with local business leaders, Manchester's students developed relationships with students from the Toms River Regional Schools Business Academy who were also in attendance.
