This weekend, the Manchester Township Middle School (MTMS) Engineering students recently showcased their innovation and teamwork at a SeaPerch competition, sending three teams to represent the program. Their hard work paid off in a big way, earning the Overall Team Spirit Award along with third place overall and third place in the open competition!

The SeaPerch program is a hands-on, remotely operated vehicle competition that challenges students to design and build an underwater robot.
Each year, the competition is centered around a real world challenge that encourages students to apply their knowledge to solve meaningful problems. This year’s theme, Storm Response: Technology in Action for Recovery and Relief, tasked students with designing ROVs capable of completing missions that simulate disaster recovery efforts.

Beyond the competition itself, the program inspires students to consider future careers in fields such as naval architecture, marine engineering, and ocean engineering. The success of this year’s teams reflects not only their technical abilities but also their collaboration and creativity.
Congratulations to all of the MTMS students involved for representing Manchester with pride and excellence!
