The Manchester Township High School (MTHS) Senior to Senior initiative came to a meaningful close today, as students wrapped up their 2026 programming with one of the community’s most requested event, Technology 101.

Originally introduced several years ago by members of the school’s football team, Technology 101 has grown into a favorite across the Manchester community. Its continued popularity made it a fitting way to conclude this year’s expanded and more formal Senior to Senior initiative. Held at Crestwood Village 5, students worked one-on-one with residents to answer questions and provide hands-on support with everyday technology. From smartphones and laptops to tablets and apps, students helped seniors troubleshoot issues and navigate tools that often come more easily to a younger generation, creating meaningful and patient learning moments.

Today’s event served as a strong finish to the spring Senior to Senior initiative, which was filled with impactful programming. It began with a lively talent show at a local assisted living facility, where students shared their talents through music, performance, and a joyful sing-along with residents. Students then welcomed seniors to the high school for a movie night featuring Grease, made possible through community support. More recently, Candy Bar Bingo brought 75 students and seniors together for an afternoon of laughter, great conversation, and plenty of sweet prizes, further strengthening connections across generations.
While the initiative was filled with success, students were disappointed that a planned Senior Carnival at a local assisted living community had to be canceled due to transportation issues when the senior bus was unexpectedly unavailable. They are already looking forward to bringing that event to life next year.
Throughout the spring, the Senior to Senior initiative has created meaningful opportunities for connection, understanding, and community. Closing with Technology 101 not only honored one of the program’s original ideas but also reflected the lasting impact of students giving their time, patience, and care to others.
