MTMS TRAVELING EXHIBIT

Manchester Township Middle School (MTMS) was selected to host the Revolutionary Lives: Living the American Experiment Then and Now traveling exhibit from the New Jersey Historical Commission as part of New Jersey’s commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.

The exhibit is currently on display in the MTMS Genius Lab and provides students and staff with a unique opportunity to explore the diverse experiences of everyday people who lived during the American Revolution in New Jersey.

Presented through RevolutionNJ, the exhibit highlights how the Revolutionary War impacted ordinary citizens from different backgrounds, cultures, and communities throughout the state. The traveling exhibit features 12 portable panels that encourage students to think critically about the choices, challenges, and opportunities faced during this important period in American history.

This experience has been especially valuable for Social Studies classes, allowing students to make meaningful connections to the topics they are studying. In addition, the exhibit supports English Language Arts (ELA) instruction by encouraging students to analyze historical narratives, perspectives, and primary-source-based storytelling.

We are excited to provide Manchester’s students with this opportunity to connect with New Jersey’s Revolutionary history and participate in the statewide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
