SLE

Manchester Township High School’s Structured Learning Experience (SLE) program hosted its annual culminating internship luncheon, bringing together students, internship supervisors, teachers, and district staff to celebrate a year of career exploration, workplace learning, and professional growth.

SLE PRESENTATION 2026

The SLE program, taught by Maryann Adams and Bri McKiernan, provides students with a unique opportunity to develop the technical, academic, and employability skills essential for post-secondary success. Through carefully designed coursework and real-world placement experiences, students gain meaningful exposure to professional environments and expectations.

In SLE I (Fall), students focus on career research, exploring potential career pathways, understanding workplace culture, and developing the foundational skills needed to pursue employment opportunities. In SLE II (Spring), students apply this knowledge directly through internships in professional settings across the community.

The culminating luncheon serves as both a celebration and a showcase of student achievement. Interns present reflections on their experiences, highlighting the skills they developed, responsibilities they held, and insights they gained while working alongside industry professionals. Guests include internship supervisors who played a vital role in mentoring students throughout their placements.

The luncheon not only recognized student accomplishments but also celebrated the strong partnerships between Manchester Township High School and local businesses and organizations. These collaborations are essential in providing students with authentic learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
