Congratulations to Cadet Abigail Soriano-Gonzalez of the Manchester Township High School NJROTC program, who graduated from the Navy JROTC Leadership Academy and Sail Training (LA/ST) last week. LA/ST is a highly selective two-week leadership program held annually at Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island.
The purpose of the training is to prepare the top-performing NJROTC cadets from programs across the Northeastern United States for leadership roles within their units. The curriculum includes academics, physical fitness, military drill, hands-on leadership development, and sailing instruction on Newport Bay. Upon returning home, the cadets are equipped to train their fellow cadets and serve as leaders within their NJROTC programs.
Cadet Abigail Soriano-Gonzalez has been selected to lead the Manchester Township High School NJROTC unit as Commanding Officer for the upcoming school year.
