This week, Manchester Township School District (MTSD) was visited by the Whiting Volunteer Fire Company and Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company.
At Whiting Elementary School, firefighters from Whiting Station 33 held a Fire Safety Assembly with our Wildcats. Students learned all about the best ways to stay safe and prevent fires, and they were treated to a close-up look at real firefighting equipment. Moving outside, everyone took a tour of the firetruck parked just outside their classrooms!
At Regional Day School, students and staff hung posters along the fence to welcome firefighters from Ridgeway Station 34. Our Penguins had a great hands-on opportunity to learn about the safety equipment and firetruck! Students shopped and made lunch for the firemen to thank them for the presentation and their service.
These visits help remind students that our community firefighters are always at hand to protect them, at school or at home. It is our hope that a continued partnership between MTSD and our local fire companies will help students and families remember the sacrifices made by our firefighters each and every day.
