Manchester Township School District (MTSD) celebrated an outstanding fall athletic season, marked by conference championships, historic individual accomplishments, and remarkable team turnarounds across its middle and high school athletic programs. From championship-winning performances to seasons defined by perseverance and growth, Manchester student-athletes demonstrated the teamwork and determination that make district athletics a source of tremendous pride for our community.
Across multiple sports, MTSD teams rose to the challenge, setting ambitious goals, overcoming adversity, and delivering memorable results. The accomplishments of the fall season reflect not only athletic talent, but also the dedication of the student-athletes, coaches, and staff who work hard each year to build successful programs.

Hawks Capture Conference Titles and Make History
The Manchester Township High School (MTHS) boys cross country team captured the Shore Conference B South Championship, earning its first division title since 2022. The accomplishment was especially impressive as the team navigated injuries to key runners throughout the season. Through resilience, determination, and a collective commitment to success, the Hawks overcame adversity and came together when it mattered most to secure the championship.
The MTHS girls tennis team also enjoyed a remarkable season, finishing with an 11-2 overall record and undefeated record in conference play to claim the Shore Conference C South Championship. The title represents an extraordinary turnaround for the program, which finished 3-11 last season without a single conference victory. The team's tremendous improvement is a testament to the players’ hard work, commitment, and belief in one another.
On the gymnastics floor, MTHS’s Jada Powell achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first gymnast in school history to win a Shore Conference Championship in the floor exercise. Powell delivered an outstanding performance, earning first place in floor exercise, second place in vault, second place on bars, 10th place on beam, and second place in the all-around competition. Her impressive showing across multiple events highlighted her versatility, dedication, and excellence as a student-athlete.
Mustangs Continue Manchester's Championship Tradition
The Manchester Township Middle School (MTMS) boys soccer team continued its winning tradition, capturing the OCIAL Conference Championship for the second consecutive year. With the goal of repeating their championship win established early in the season, the team remained focused and worked diligently each day. That commitment paid off as the players successfully defended their title, demonstrating the value of preparation, teamwork, and perseverance.
The MTMS girls soccer team also reached the top of the conference, earning the OCIAL Conference Championship for the first time since 2015. Featuring student-athletes from all three grade levels, the team demonstrated impressive unity throughout the season. The players worked together during practices and games, building the chemistry and confidence necessary to achieve this long-awaited accomplishment.
Rounding out the district's championship performances, the MTMS girls cross country team captured the OCIAL Conference Championship after an undefeated season. The team's consistency and determination throughout the fall established it as a standout program and added another championship to an exceptional season for Manchester athletics.

A Season Defined by Teamwork, Growth, and Excellence
With conference championships across boys cross country, girls tennis, boys soccer, girls soccer, and girls cross country, along with a historic individual gymnastics championship, this MTSD fall athletics season was one to remember.
Just as meaningful as the titles themselves were the stories behind them. Teams overcame injuries, transformed their records, defended championships, ended lengthy title droughts, and achieved milestones never before reached in school history. These accomplishments reflect the values at the heart of our district’s athletics: perseverance, sportsmanship, discipline, collaboration, and a commitment to improvement.
The success of Manchester's student-athletes also underscores the important role coaches and school staff play in fostering an environment where students can develop their abilities, build confidence, and learn lessons that extend well beyond competition.
Manchester Township School District congratulates all of its fall student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff on an exemplary season. Their accomplishments have brought tremendous pride to the district and community, setting an inspiring standard for future seasons.
Congratulations to our Hawks and Mustangs on an outstanding fall season!
